Empowering Through Training: Equipping Survivors for Change

Training lies at the core of our mission. This year, we're offering free training across four crucial courses:

  • Trauma Support Volunteer Training
  • Anti-Bullying Training Programme
  • GBV & Substance Abuse Awareness Training
  • GBV Life Coach Training (To qualify, participants must have completed the Trauma Support Volunteer Training and Anti-Bullying Training Programme and be actively involved with a school or organisation as a volunteer).

Duration: 2 months, blended learning model including WhatsApp Training, Interviews, Online training as well as self-study.

Last year, we provided our Anti-Bullying training free to 2981 parents and teachers, totaling over 6000 participants to date. This initiative is vital, given the alarming statistic that nearly 90% of childhood bullies become perpetrators of gender-based violence. Addressing GBV at its root cause is imperative.

Furthermore, we extend essential support and training to trauma counsellors within communities. To date, we've trained over 10,000 trauma counsellors, with 2724 trained last year alone. These counsellors often serve as the first point of contact for survivors and play a pivotal role in facilitating police visits and ensuring successful prosecution of perpetrators.

Our approach is rooted in the belief that by providing survivors with access to resources, skills, and information, we empower them to seize opportunities and champion human rights for women. Your support is critical in sustaining these efforts and amplifying our impact.

We rely on donations to fuel our mission. Your contribution, regardless of size, matters deeply. With your support, we offer GBV survivors more than just hope; we provide them with the tools and resources to build a brighter future.

The 1000 Women Trust issues Section 18A donor certificates for all donations and grants.

Please consider donating today to support the 1000 Women Trust's mission to prevent and end violence against women and girls. Together, we can create a world free from violence against women and children. Your generosity can spark meaningful change in the lives of those who need it most.
